Deidra the Sorceress

My second Twili OC! ^^ Meet the very Mysterious Deidra~

Deidra was born an ordinary twili girl, in a poor section of the realm. She was pretty ordinary in every way-except for one. At a young age, she discovered that she had fantastic magical powers, ones that were stronger than most twili that were twice her age. So her mother, determined to make her talented daughter shine, saved up enough money for her to be enrolled in a special school for those with special gifts of magic and physical strength. Deidra was top of her class and loved by everyone for her kindness and generosity. When she graduated, she was able to find a job very quickly-the royal family needed a court magician, and Deidra fit the bill perfectly. She learned how to cast many powerful spells and illusions, and she helped the royal family with all their problems and troubles. When she was wasn't busy helping out the royal family, she granted protective spells and charms to those in need. She was loyal to a T, and loved her work. Everything was perfect...until it was all ruined.

One dark day, Deidra was working on a new spell of protection against light, when one of her regular customers, Zant, appeared at her door. Usually, he asked for spells of power and battling, but today, he wanted a spell that would help him subdue Midna and take over the throne for himself. He offered a fortune in return if she helped him. But Deidra refused, not wanting in the slightest to betray the royal family she loved so dearly. Zant was so furious at her refusal that he attacked her. His power was stronger than Deidra anticipated, and she lost more than that battle that day. Zant's powers destroyed both of her hands, arms, and one of her eyes. When Zant was through, he ran off and attacked Midna as well, taking the throne for himself.

Deidra almost didn't survive Zant's attack. If it weren't for two of the Twili guards nearby, who heard her weak cries for help, she would have died all alone. It took her months to recover her strength again, and then many more for arms of a gelatin substance and a eye of glass to be created for her. By the time her new body parts were installed in her, and her strength was back, Midna had been restored to the throne and Zant was destroyed. Midna praised Deidra for not giving away her loyalty, but Deidra still felt like a failure. She had failed to protect Midna, and had lost her arms and eye in the process. From that day on, she rarely came out in public, only showing herself to the royal family and those who visited them. She covered her fake arms with her cloak, but couldn't hide her eye. When she isn't working for the royal family, she spends her time in a dark corner of her house, deeply depressed over her failures in the past.

That's quite the mouthful up there, oops I hope she's an alright OC! I'm still working on her...
