A year after the events of Twilight Princess, Link and Ilia were married. Link was only eighteen, and Ilia was seventeen. A little after their marriage, Ilia became pregnant. When she was eighteen, Mila was born, but due to complications, Ilia died soon after the birth. Link was left raising Mila on his own.
Mila grew up very gentle and caring, like Link had hoped she would under his care. He was a good father to his very precious daughter

I feel pretty bad for Link, but oh well...
